Routine Maintenance Checklist

Buying or selling a home is one of the biggest decisions in life. A professional Home Inspection ensures that you make an informed choice with complete confidence.

  • Locate the water main shut-off valve in case of emergency
  • Keep electrical panel clear & easily accessible at all times
  • Schedule annual maintenance for furnace, boiler, and air conditioning units (if applicable)
  • Check/replace furnace or boiler filters regularly (if applicable)
  • Clean bathroom exhaust fans to prevent moisture buildup
  • Clean/replace kitchen exhaust hood filter to avoid grease accumulation
  • Clean washing machine filter regularly (if applicable)
  • Clean dryer vent lint to improve efficiency and reduce fire risk (if applicable)
  • Inspect water heater tank for any signs of leaks (if applicable)
  • Check under kitchen & bathroom sinks for leaks
  • Inspect toilet, faucet & washer connections for water leaks
  • Test and replace smoke detector batteries regularly
  • Check for carbon monoxide leaks (if applicable)
  • Ensure garage door auto-reverse sensor is functioning (if applicable)
  • Service gas fireplace annually (if applicable)
  • Inspect attic for roof leaks & exhaust duct connection (if accessible)
  • Shut off exterior faucets in winter to prevent frozen pipes (if applicable)
